First offered for trade in 1670, Hudson's Bay Point Blankets were so highly prized by Native Americans that they became important articles of trade in American history. Each short line or "point" woven into the edge of the blanket indicated the number of beaver pelts to be exchanged. Today, points are still woven into the blanket as an historical reference and to indicate the size of the blanket. In the late 1700's, wool blankets were a necessity to comfort and survival. Under the official license of Hudson's Bay Company, Woolrich retains the authentic 100% wool quality made in England with wool blended from sources in Wales, New Zealand and India.
