Bedscarf - a decorative complementary matching or contrasting scarf that is draped at the foot of a bed. It is usually 15-20 inches deep and may match some of the pillows at the head of the bed.
Bedskirt - a decorative covering that complements or matches the bedding. It goes under the mattress and reaches the floor which gives a completed look to your set. It is also useful to hide anything that might be stored under your bed.
Bolster - a long, often cylindrical pillow or cushion for a bed adding just the extra dimension to complete an eye catching look.
Comforters - a bed covering that is usually quilted to give loft and beauty to a bed set Comforters can be tucked under the mattress, hang to the floor or reach the bed rail where you can see the bed skirt below.
Coverlets - a bed quilt used chiefly for warmth or looks. This is designed to go under the pillows and can be constructed in a variety of fabrics.
Delicate or cool water wash. This is recommended for many of the cotton quilts. They should then be tumbled dry on a delicate or light setting.
Down - a natural fill with a great loft and little weight. Some of the pillows have a percentage of down in their composition.
Dry Cleaning - this is recommended for many of the Berry Creek and Wooded River ensembles because of the variety of trims and leather fringes. The fabric content of all Berry Creek is available upon request.
Duvet - (doo-vay) a zippered or buttoned cover that encloses a down or polyester filled insert or comforter. Duvets are used in many high end bed sets.
Ensemble - a complete harmonizing of accessories and coverlet, quilt or duvet to make an attractive bed set
Eurosham - a covering for a large 26 x 26 inch pillow which sets off a bed set by resting behind the shams or regular pillows. It is usually in a complementary fabric or color to complete the looks of a bed set. These will often match the fabric in bed skirts
Fleece - fabric with a so fluffy feel used for warmth and an attractive look. The micro fleece copyrighted by Denali is able to be washed and dried in a low temperature setting. Washing has enhanced my Denali blankets.
Leather - the skin of an animal with the hair removed or at times (in some pillows) with the hair retained which is processed and tanned to be pliable and be used in decorative bedding.
Mattellaise - an embossed compound fabric woven on a dobby or jacquard loom. These are most often a solid color with an attractive raised pattern.
Sham - a cover for a bed pillow which is in a pattern or design to complete a bed set At times a sham is used with an attractive quilt to make a simple set. Shams are often quilted and of the same material as the quilt.
Mattress Pad - a protective covering to either keep a mattress clean or to add additional padding or warmth for sleeping. Pads are either zipped totally around a mattress or have a gathered bottom edge.
Merino Wool - finely crimped soft wool.
Pillow Sham - pillow shams are usually either a 21 v 27 for a regular pillow or 21 x 37 for a luxury or king sham. They are often quilted and complete the rest of a bed set.
Quilt - a coverlet made for a bed of two different fabrics with a soft material such as wool. Polyfill, or down is sandwiched between and quilted through in order to keep the contents from shifting. The patterns of quilting can be intricate or can simply follow the outlines as in a patchwork.
Virgin Wool - wool that is being woven or processed for the first time.
Wool Blend - used in some of the Wooded River sets. This is a mixture in most instances of 80% wool and 20% synthetics or cotton which increases its strength and durability.
